What's happening?
The most recent plan (2026) to build an 800- 1,000 seat church and campus on the site has been withdrawn after public outcry. (See pre-application site plan--that's what could have happened!)

On May 12th, after listening to public comment, Erie's town council moved to preserve the majority of the Page Property as Open Space, with some voicing support for small-scale development projects including a nature center, a community space, a historical museum, town facilities, or an Old Town overflow parking lot.

This website will be updated as the conversation continues. Stay involved--our voices do matter!

Erie deserves open space. The Page Property serves as an important ecological and human refuge amid the rapid development happening across Erie. Allowing large scale development is fundamentally incompatible with the Town's Comprehensive Plan and will permanently alter the rural character of Erie. Additional concerns include existing water scarcity and restrictions, traffic, noise, trash, flooding, and the destruction of unique and essential habitat.

The Page Property offers the legacy of a one-of-a-kind open space including natural areas, a healthy riparian area, wildlife and bird habitat, floodplain buffering, viewshed protection, and a tranquil outdoor experience.

This one-of-a-kind 46-acre parcel sits adjacent to the Coal Creek trail into Old Town. It runs along County Road 1 1/2 across the street from Reliance Park & the Boneyard Dog Park, and includes sweeping views of the Flatirons, Front Range and Indian Peaks, wildlife habitat, a pond, mature trees, and nesting Great Horned Owls. In 2023, the Town of Erie purchased the property from Paul Page using ARPA Federal funds and Erie’s Trails, Natural Areas and Community Character funds (TNACC) with the intent to provide open space and build mixed-use and affordable housing.
